Extent of Slavery Revealed in Documents from Chancellor
Imperial News Center
As all know, Emperor Xaimoungkhoun I made contract labor legal and didn't beat around the bush in calling it slavery. This has been determined to be a tool to hide his true intentions of the law, or to allow others to use it for their own gain. It was believed that many of the slaves being brought into New Gracaria were being brought in from the Empire, but they are, in fact, being bought from nations such as Salnai.

Documents from Chancellor Soldavini have been recovered and have shown how he, personally, has purchased slaves for his own use and for various projects on the island. Estimates place the slave population at about 1,500,000 and climbing almost daily. The Chancellor couldn't be reached for comment, though that is understandable with the kind of corruption that runs rampant in the Commonwealth's government.

The Emperor himself, however, could be reached and has said of this, "It's unfortunate that someone I trusted to run this country properly would twist a law, which I made to help those that were in poverty, for their own gain. I intend to do what I must to fix this and make things right, but the reputation of this nation is now stained."

Chancellor Withdraws Foreign Deployments
Commonwealth Broadcasting Network
Currently around the world there are tens of thousands of NGDF soldiers deployed in various situations. From a division of soldiers in Aatuylva assigned to Empress Tiam to the fleet in Somalia, the NGDF has put up a global presence. Now, however, that changes with Chancellor Soldavini's order to pull all forces back to the Commonwealth.

The fleet off the coast of Somalia has begun withdrawal and should arrive back at New Astrapolis in about two to three weeks, possibly more. Near Forraya, completing a continental cruise, the 1st Fleet is beginning a trip back home and should arrive in the week. However the 1st Fleet will probably be delayed as it will serve as a staging area for the withdrawal from Aatuylva. Withdrawal from Aatuylva should begin in a matter of days, depending on whether or not they don't just massacre our soldiers on the spot.

Reasoning behind such a wide withdrawal is unknown, but sources close to the Chancellor say that he's afraid of being invaded due to these "false and baseless" accusations.

Emperor Departs Earth, Destination: Res'Ort
Intergalactic News Network
The Emperor, wanting to get away from the problems on Earth and be closer to the heart of the Empire so that what he needs to do gets done faster, as well as take a vacation once in a while, has left Earth for the next month until things cool down with the slavery issue. This leaves Soldavini in a relatively vulnerable state due to the only person that has backed him up is now off Earth and, as the Emperor himself said, 'out of fucks to give'.

Emperor Xaimoungkhoun Releases Second Album
Intergalactic News Network
Following high sales of his first album, which has been poorly rated by 'professional' music rating agencies, the Emperor, in a less drunken stupor, released his second to coincide with his departure to Res'Ort. Unlike the first one, IX has put out a full track listing which is already seemingly more potentially entertaining than the first one.

The tracks are as follows:
1. Goosestep Gangster
2. In Da Woods, Motherfucker
3. Blast 'Em High, Swing 'Em Low
4. Gimme a Piece o' Your Eight
5. (The Fucks I Don't Give Are Just) Falling from the Sky
6. Striped Sally Shoeshine
7. Damned Dirty Pudrians
8. Brigade Bounce
9. This Hat Ain't Yours
10. Can't Touch Me Bitch (feat. Muammar "Mo'Muff" Gaddafi)

Like with the first one, several are in reference to political events. 'Striped Sally Shoeshine' is a reference to the large amount of Salnese slaves Soldavini purchased. Most of them are Striped Hyenas. 'Can't Touch Me Bitch' is to outright laugh in the face of the UN while, at the same time, indirectly advertise Res'Ort.

TRAIN DERAILMENT!

Mine waste train derails in farm country, emergency crews on scene
Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/img]
A Holmbergsvania Rail Corporation train, similar to the one that crashed
A Holmbergsvania Rail Corporation freight train, carrying several cars containing toxic mine tailings from Croaton Mining's McCauley Summit mining project in the hills of Northeast Holmbergsvania, derailed today due to an unknown problem. HRC Rail Dispatcher Martin Blanc, who was monitoring the train that derailed, had this to say:
It almost seemed like an unavoidable incident, I was in contact with the engineer and he couldn't figure out what was wrong with his train. A few minutes later, well, the derailment occurred. I did my best to immediately notify our emergency team and the corporate office, and I'm hoping everything turns out okay
This derailment comes on the heels of yet another derailment, this one on the Port Penguin CommuteLink system, where a train had apparently accelerated out of control and plowed through the back of a strip mall, no people were killed, but approximately 20 folks on the ground, and 14 people on the train were injured, including the engineers. Holmbergsvania Transportation had sent it's Incident Response Team out to the scene, as per procedure.

HRC's Chief Safety Officer, as well as Holmbergsvania Transportation's Rail Administration, are pledging that these incidents will be investigated thoroughly. There aren't any reports of foul play being involved in either accident so far.

As for now, the area around MacGuffin Road in Northeast Holmbergsvania, near the hamlet of Weyeland, is closed off while HAZMAT crews clean up the area, and the accident is cleared up.

More news as the story develops.

As expected, the Nationalist Party seized an even larger portion of the Senate and gave them near absolute power over the nation. Again, Chancellor Soldavini was elected, though there's accusations of election fraud due to the recent political situations Soldavini has been caught in, such as the slavery debacle, as well as the high percentage of votes he had gained.

Senate Election
Imperialist Party: 350 Seats
Nationalist Party: 3,750 Seats
Stratocratic Party: 100 Seats
Socialist Party: 300 Seats
Humanity First Party: 400 Seats

Untitled Riot Breaks Out in Dorringantden, Causes are vague.

A riot began yesterday at a fairly gradual and controlled pace when a demonstration broke out. The subject of the demonstration, however, was unknown, as those interviewed only seemed to express that they were "fairly angry", but were unable to specify precisely a specific thing they were angry about.

"I don't know why these other people are here, but they seem to agree with me about a variety of different topics", said one protestor, "When I read the news, I just became so angry at such a large number of different things going on, that I just basically had to get up and throw a cactus."

When asked about what those things were, the protestor had a far-off look for a moment and then said, "I think... I'm angry because I can't figure out a central cause to these things I'm angry about."

The Riot began at Spolhadery Rd. and took a rather easy stroll down until it reached Creech St. where it is now currently found itself in repose. The atmosphere has been described as "miffed".

The riot had already reached it's fever pitch when demonstrators lit a trash can on fire yesterday evening. Since then numerous slogans all sharing nothing thematically in common have been found imprinted on the asphalt in places where the riot had passed. About 65% of them were simply random ribald comments and obscene words.

Two people were taken to the hospital after getting into an altercation with eachother.

So far the police have made no arrests.

Community's "Feelings Hurt" after Offensive Graffitti found on 110 year old concrete wall

B020, NORTHERN RESERVATION

When 6U5TAV Plork found a section of the old security wall on the northern side of B020 adorned with some racist comments, he was initially somewhat irritated, but mostly concerned.

"That wall is covered in a hundred years of graffitti. It is a part of the landscape and is a historical installation", it said, "I feel that it was inappropriate for the graffittists to use this object as a forum to air their grievances against my species. Surely they could have just written their name on the the thing, or professed their love of someone, like everyone else has."

A report was filed with Public Safety Bureau officers and they did take note of the scene. Although an arrest is highly unlikely due to the status of graffitti being a non-arrestable offence.

"Our analysis concludes that the graffittist was likely politically motivated, based on their statement that this community, and other Malych Reservation communities have been "Delivering Communism, since 1951".", said an officer,
"I suppose the author has chosen not to defend this assertion with any kind of dialogue, since they are not currently present to explain the details of their theory."

The raptors then shared tea and chulliwigs with the concerned Malych at the scene. Later on, a nearby apparel design company that produces marxist-themed hipster accessories under the brands "Li'l Che" and "The Party" used a photo of the graffitti as the centerpiece of their online store's website.

Arx Times
Farm Council and Chamber: No Deal In Sight

The National Farm Council has rejected the farm utilization plan approved by the Chamber of Speakers. The plan, drafted by the Organization on Agricultural Policy and brought to the floor by Unionist Speaker Tisvokanza, was not expected to be approved by the Farm Council despite intense lobbying by Speakers.

The Farm Council issued a statement saying the the approved plan would reduce farm employment by over ten percent this year alone, and another twenty percent over the next five years. The Council also said that the plan reduces their ability to produce several staples, including rice, limes, and grasshoppers.

A competing statement from the coalition of speakers that passed the plan claims the farm employment is necessary given higher demands for employees in the manufacturing sectors and that the claimed crop reductions are not in the plan, citing several measures to expand orchards in Forest and West Prefect.

If the Chamber of Speakers is unable to pass a plan that the National Farm Council approves of, the Council will have the opportunity to make their own plan. However if they do so, they will forgo federal insurances to the National Farm Council in the event of major wide spread crop failures. State and local farm councils that adopt the plan will however retain their federal support.

Mr. and Mrs. Tinis Beauty Pageant Ends Awkwardly

Rilla and Brav Distrontinil won their respective beauty pageants yesterday, independent of each other. However, Rilla refused to go on stage with Brav in the final coronation ceremony because she didn't want to make the impression that she was marrying her brother. The pageant of course simply uses the name Mr. and Mrs. and no marriage ceremony is involved.

After several attempts at explaining this to Rilla she did eventually come out, but this was well after the end of the live portion of the event. Judges have begun to reconsider awarding Rilla the victory.

Rilla refused to talk to reporters. Her brother did say to the Times that he was as confused as everyone else and "She was the one that got me to sign up anyway." Max Tox, the chief of the pageant said, "Its natural for someone to react that way, she's a good girl."

Aquatic Building Springs a Leak

A massive leak from the 33rd floor of the Cool Breeze Building in downtown Arx partially flooded the street below and threatened integrity on the surrounding floors. No one was injured as the floor was drained and all occupants were able to evacuate to near by floors.

However extensive damage due to the leak has been reported, both in the building and at street level. Several shops were damaged and personal effects were washed out of the building.

Aquatic citizen buildings are uncommon, but there are fifteen in the Arx metro, allowing citizens that require substantial liquid water regions to survive or flourish to live in the city comfortably.
